Another Place & Time: Arizona Monastery

This winter I visited my parents in Casa Grande, Arizona. They took me one sunny afternoon to visit St Anthony’s Monastery where Greek Orthodox monks work and pray. The desert grounds are dotted with palm trees, olive groves and orange trees; almost like Italy (or Greece, I guess!) but actually America.

The sky was very blue that day and the sun strong, which made for nice contrast in these black and white images.

Un Posto al Sole

Almost every day was a place in the sun in Italy last month. Ok, ok there were a few days of rain but there were still plenty of beautiful picture-taking days.

As usual, I was packing my Brownie Hawkeye, which has clearly become one of my most beloved cameras. Here are my 2 favourite Brownie shots from Italy.

International Art in the Redlight

I recently had the chance to visit “De Oude Kerk” in Amsterdam where Emptiness? an international art exhibition put on by Stichting Art in the Redlight was being held. Installation art made up a good part of the exhibition complimented by various forms of art on canvas including one of my favourites: ballpoint pen on canvas seen below by Roger Loos; installation below by Concrete.

Emptiness? is showing until December 5th and costs 7 Euros for entry.
